A gift for my best friend!

Hi everyone,
A few months ago I made this necklace for my best friend, Jenny, as an early birthday present.

I gave it to her when we went back to Newcastle but forgot, yes Miss shutterbug FORGOT, to take any photos of her wearing it. She has been having lots of problems with her internet but managed to send me these today. These are so easy to make and really dress up a plain T Shirt.

Im about to make a whole pile for presents now. You can actually wear these up higher like in the pic or wear them a bit lower on the neck line and they look like they are attached to the top.
                                      Tell me what you think.

M.I.A

Hi everyone, no I haven't crept into some cave or fallen of the side of the Earth, LOL, I have just been really busy with the Christmas preps.
This year I was determined to do something Christmassy every day in December. I  LOVE Christmas and everything about it.  In an attempt to be a "perfect Mum" and share my love of the season with the kids, I had grand plans.
With out going into too much detail that lasted for the first 10 days!!! I feel a bit guilty/ slack but know I tried my best. It hard to stop that itch to scrap. OK I admit it, Im addicted!!!
Oh by the way, during this time I also participated in Jessica Sprague's Inspiration class, which was fun, and COMPLETED, yes COMPLETED her course called Frame Ups and Photo Editing. That has to be the best thing I've ever done!!!!! I learnt sooo much and even though I had taught myself some photoshop techniques, it had been all hit and miss, and really didn't understand why I was doing it. Not any more. Im very proud of myself and have gone and brought two more classes.
Any way thought I would share my creation from Sue's December sketch on the E2C blog. I had to take a photo of this one rather than scan it due to the butterflies. I used the Echo Park, A walk in the park range. I love this range it soo bright and colourful.  Tell me what you think?

USED LEFT OVERS!!!!!

Hi, a couple of weeks ago I attended a class at scrapworks run by the wonderful Sandra. Had a great time and learnt how to make a new type of flower.

Now before I go any further I must tell you that Im a bit obsessed with using as much of my scrap before I pull out new paper as I find that I forget what I have, end up with lots of bits and pieces all over the place and never get back to using them. With that being said the following pages are what I completed using the left overs of Sandra's kit.

All I have left over from the kit is some chipboard letters and 1 x black & white rubon flower, thats right, no paper at all. I was very impressed with myself.
To complete these 4 extra pages all I used was 5 x bazzil paper, some ribbon and thread, some wire (butterflies), flower, leaves, a pin  and a charm.

Hope you like them,  I'd love to hear what you think.

Some SPOOKY FUN!!!

A double page layout that I finished a couple of weeks ago. Thought Id share.

Page 1
Sorry I downloaded the pages in the wrong order.

I was really happy with how the spider webs turned out, just used thread and added some glittered kindyglitz. I've been wanting to use these spider brads for ages. The tree is covered in enamel and the broom I made. The broom is just a twig with raffia attached and then painted black.

The photos are of Phoenix at dancing. Every week she likes to wear something different, boy am I in for some drama and expense as she gets older.

Hope you like them!! :-)

Happy Halloween!!!

Hope everyone had a great halloween and enjoyed the fun of the day.
For the last 7 years my kids have loved dressing up and going trick or treating, and this year was no exception. All the kids invited their friends around to get ready and then went treating together. In total I had 18 kids here. It was great as they were all getting into the spirit of the night and just having fun. My eldest, Maddii (15), and her friend asked to take Phoenix (4) around the neighbourhood.

                                                          Some of the gang.

Phoenix as Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

The stash.

After about an hour the kids all came back very wet, a bit cold but laughing their heads off. I dont know if it was all the sugar they had consumed but it was lovely to hear. I was amazed at how little a difference it makes, noise level wise, between 4 kids and 18 kids. They all had a great time.

This halloween I finally got to do something I've always wanted to do........I transformed this pumpkin into this!!

A Jack Skellington from Nightmare before Christmas Jack-o-lanteen.

I loved how he turned out.

I had such a ball making him and he only took about 45mins from beginning to end to make. Jack took pride of place at the front door and really made the place feel halloweeny (is that a word??). All the kids thought he was rather cool.

17 years ago today......

Today my DH, Tony and I celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. Wow, I cant believe its been that long. Actually if add the 6 years that we dated, its been 23 years!!!! I always joke that if I had killed someone I would be out of jail by now!!! LOL
Truth is that I cant believe that we have lasted so long and are still really happy. I  know that I would do it all over again. How lucky am I!!!!!
All day today we have looked at the time and said 17 years ago now we were doing this or that.  At noon we looked at each other and said "now we were actually saying our I do's". It was really cute that we both stopped at the same time and remembered.

AFTER 17 YEARS...

Still sweethearts!!!!!!

Hi everyone!!!

Sunday, 10th October 2010.
Wow!, I cant believe that I have done it, started my own blog, something I've been wanting to do for the last couple of years but had no idea on how.  First I would like to say "welcome" but please bear with me as this is a first for me and when it comes to computers, Im still on my L's.
This blog is a way for me to share creative ventures with family and friends that are spread all over. If anyone else is interested and wants to leave a comments that would be great, as my DH and DDs are not really interested in what I create.
Well here goes.....

For  Lavender's 12th birthday I made an 8 layer rainbow cake. As you can see it was huge!!! But very yummy. I got the idea after watching an episode of Martha Stewart.
